BELLEVUE – Capital Credit Union – a regional banking organization with locations across Northeast Wisconsin – is expanding access to financial services in the Greater Green Bay area.

Every year, Senior Vice President of Branch Operations Danielle Kroening said Capital Credit Union will research which “up-and-coming” areas it “could be beneficial” to be part of.

“We work with a third-party company that really does analyze the data to figure out what those corridors are (that) we want to be part of and would really benefit our members and potential new members,” she said. “Bellevue definitely got on our radar as far as (it being) a fast-growing community.”

The Bellevue community, Kroening said, is also “ranked the fifth largest” in Brown County – making it a primary location for a new branch.

“It’s such an incredible corridor – Monroe Road is building up so fast,” she said. “So, it was kind of a no-brainer for us to go. We want to be part of that growing community.”

With other branches across the Greater Green Bay area, Kroening said Capital Credit Union already has “current members (living) and (working)” in Bellevue.

“They’re commuting (to our other locations) on a regular basis, so we always want to try to meet them where they want to be met,” she said. “(It’s) going to be a really great opportunity for us to be another convenient stopping point for them as needed.”

A growth mindset

Expansion opportunities are something Kroening said Capital Credit Union is always looking for.

“It’s (asking,) ‘What’s that next opportunity to help our members?’” she said. “(And it’s asking,) ‘Where do we need to be so that they can access us?’”

Throughout the last few years, Kroening said Capital Credit Union identified Bellevue as an area where a new branch could “really make a difference.”

Located at 1920 Landmark Boulevard, right across the street from Costco, Kroening said the new branch will help Capital Credit Union achieve its company vision.

“Ultimately, our vision is to inspire financial well-being through access, care and collaboration,” she said. “So, this provides another option for us to do that for current members and new members. We’re providing another access point for them at this location in that robust traffic area that’s growing every day.”

Speaking of growth, Kroening said Capital Credit Union is expecting some growth of its own upon the opening of its new branch.

“We do have some members that live in the Bellevue area, but we’re looking to grow that,” she said. “For us to be able to provide a brick-and-mortar building there, and having that presence, hopefully that helps from a convenience standpoint.”

In addition to providing increased convenience, Kroening said Capital Credit Union will also provide a new kind of banking experience at its forthcoming Bellevue branch.

“The building itself is going to have a little bit of a different look and feel,” she said. “There’s no new product services coming with that, but we really want the look and feel more to be like a concierge-type service – making sure we’re available to help members that are coming in.”

With the new branch, Kroening said Capital Credit Union will also be introducing a new “On-Demand Resource Center” – another convenience-focused initiative.

“We’ll be able to have members sit down and interact with (employees) from the credit union that are not physically in that building,” she said. “They’ll be able to work with different departments that we don’t have physically sitting there, but they’ll be able to work with them without having to travel there – which is really exciting.”

Community partner in finance

As a local credit union, Kroening said community is of utmost importance at Capital Credit Union – an attitude embodied by the financial institution’s expansion into the Bellevue area.

“With us opening that branch, we are creating opportunities to empower financial well-being – not only for our members, but their families,” she said. “That’s super important for us at the credit union.”

The recent growth along Monroe Road, coupled with that of the overall Bellevue community, Kroening said, makes it an especially exciting time to build Capital Credit Union’s 25th branch.

“Community is such a huge part of Capital Credit Union, and for us to be able to go into Bellevue and just embrace another new community is super exciting for us,” she said. “So we look forward to meeting the new members that are coming in and our existing members that are going to travel to visit us, too.”

Kroening said Capital Credit Union is expected to hold a soft opening for its new Bellevue branch sometime in mid-May.

“We’re going to do a soft opening just to make sure that we’re prepared and things are ready,” she said. “We’re going to be scheduling a nice, big, grand opening later in the summer, but definitely watch our social media, because that’s going to be the best way to know exactly when things are happening.”
