TWO RIVERS – On July 15, community members attended the official dedication of the Schmitt Brothers Stage.
The Schmitt Brothers Stage is an integral part of Central Park West 365, a $1.6 million project to upgrade the city’s most significant public space.
The extended Schmitt family raised more than $122,000 to name the stage in honor of the Schmitt Brothers, the famous quartet that put the city on the map when they won the 1951 SPEBSQSA title.
The stage is situated in the same park where Two Rivers welcomed their hometown heroes after their victory.
For 35 years, the quartet sang together, spreading harmony from all the major stages in the country as well as the Ed Sullivan, Arthur Godfrey and Lawrence Welk shows.
