DE PERE — The Medical College of Wisconsin-Green Bay (MCW) and St. Norbert College (SNC) are partnering to offer high school students two Summer Academy of Medicine experiences June 11-14 and 18-21.
During each session, students will:
Explore careers in medicine and the biomedical sciencesEngage in hands-on active learning in classrooms and laboratoriesGain insights into the skills, educational paths and personal qualities required for a career as a physician, researcher or scientist.
The programs will take place in SNC’s Gehl-Mulva Science Center, which is home to MCW’s Green Bay campus.
Classes will be taught by faculty from MCW-Green Bay and SNC, with a strong emphasis on ethics, collaborative work and leadership.
The programs are open to students entering their junior or senior year of high school.
Participants will be housed in Gries Hall on the SNC campus.
The cost is $800 per participant and includes meals, snacks, housing and evening activities, with a limited number of scholarships available.
Parents will be invited to join their students for the closing ceremony and lunch, as well as tours of campus and sessions on college admission and financial aid.
A limited number of slots are available.
