SHEBOYGAN FALLS – For owner-dentists Kelle and Parker Kastelic, love at first “bite” down in Louisville, Kentucky, led to the recent grand opening of their new, family-owned practice in Northeast Wisconsin – Falls Edge Family Dentistry.
“We both went to the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in Louisville, Kentucky,” Kelle said. “We met in dental school and then decided at some point we wanted to own and operate a dentist’s office together.”
Following their graduation in 2021, Kelle – who’s “originally from Tennessee” – said she and Parker moved to Colorado, where they both worked for a local dentist, Mike Darais.
“Mike gave us our first jobs out of school,” Parker said.
Following their time out West, Parker said they were hired at different dental offices in Minnesota – though both were owned by Barb and Adam Curtis.
After a few years of working for the Curtises, in 2024, Parker said he and Kelle had their daughter and, shortly after, moved closer to his family in Sheboygan County.
“I grew up in the area,” he said. “It’s got an easy type of living, and it’s nice to have your family close by when you have a little one.”
Opening Falls Edge Family Dentistry, Parker said, was made possible through the hard work of their staff and the help of their family.
“Having help from family members really makes a big difference – it would [have been] almost impossible without it,” he said. “So, that was definitely the biggest reason we decided this area was the place for us.”

In addition, Kelle said when they were considering where to open their practice, they found the Sheboygan Falls area needed an established dental office.
“We had to research to get our bank loan, [and saw] there was only one dentist in Sheboygan Falls, and [in the] surrounding areas, like Kohler, there’s no dentist,” she said. “So, it was definitely a good location for us.”
After seeing their first patients at the beginning of June, the Kastelics said they organized and held an official grand opening for their brand new facility – located at 300 N. Main St. in Sheboygan Falls – in early August.
Location, location, location
Though still living in Minnesota at the time, the Kastelics said they started searching for potential office locations in Sheboygan County at the end of 2023.
Looking at various properties across the county – including in Port Washington, Sheboygan and Oostburg – Kelle said she and Parker decided to buy land and build new in Sheboygan Falls.
“Initially, I really wanted to buy somebody out and buy their practice,” she said. “But for two [dentists], you need a lot of space, and a lot of the places we had looked at just weren’t the right size, and really weren’t the best fit.”
Not wanting to “buy something that’s not the right fit,” Parker said he and Kelle decided to hop on the start-up train.
“You pay a premium to buy an office, and I think it gives you cash flow right away, but it might not be the practice that suits your treatment style the best,” he said. “For us, we had a decent amount [of money] saved up, and we wanted to do our practice the way we wanted it. [So], we were willing to take a little bit more of a risk to do a start-up.”
The property they ended up purchasing, Kelle said, was previously an empty lot that sees thousands of cars drive past daily.
“The opportunity was there, especially in terms of the land,” she said. “A lot of cars drive by – [roughly], more than 9,000 cars drive by our office pretty much every day.”
Building their own office – partnered with their combined experience – Parker said, also afforded Kelle and him the opportunity to bring more dental services in-house at Falls Edge.

“This is our fifth year out of dental school, so we feel really confident with the treatment that we suggest,” he said. “We do root canals, IV sedation, implants, dentures, [etc.]. So, all sorts of things other [dentists] might refer out, we do most of those procedures between Kelle and I.”
Each exam room, Parker said, is plumbed with nitrous oxide, and the office is equipped with 3D X-ray and digital scanning technology.
“It’s not your grandparents’ dental office,” he said. “We’re not a completely pain-free dentistry, because that’s unrealistic, but we do really emphasize trying to make patients feel comfortable.”
Construction, Kelle said – thanks to the work of their project manager – “went relatively smoothly.”
“Our project manager, Paul Weaver, did a really phenomenal job,” she said. “His whole thing is [maintaining the] timeline, and he really made sure to keep things on time.”
Family-owned, community-oriented
Falls Edge Family Dentistry, the Kastelics said, provides multiple benefits to its surrounding area – both in its services and community value.
“The biggest thing for us is we want to be a family-oriented practice that offers a lot of cutting-edge services,” Parker said.
The City of Sheboygan Falls, he said, “was awesome to work with” as he and Kelle established their practice.
“They were really cooperative and helpful,” he said, “so we were really pleased with their response and everything in helping us start up in the community.”
Parker – a Sheboygan County native, having grown up in Plymouth – said he and Kelle have been happy with the clientele they’ve built up so far.
“We really try to do a variety of things to get ourselves out there, but we feel, in terms of [being] a start-up, that we can’t complain too much,” he said. “We’ve been pretty happy with patients coming in and giving us a try.”
As “the word spread,” Kelle said the community’s appetite for dental care from a family-owned practice became apparent.
“There’s a lot of other practices out there that aren’t family-owned, and I think people want that,” she said. “People know we’re not going anywhere.”
Their three-person team – which is in addition to her and Parker – Kelle said, helps emphasize another community benefit of her family opening a practice in Sheboygan Falls – as all their staff are local professionals living within miles of the office.
“We have really great staff,” she said. “We got really lucky to have such an awesome team to help us start… because they’ve been a huge help in getting this place rolling and getting the systems in place.”
Being younger entrepreneurs, Parker said he and Kelle are excited to be part of the area’s next generation of business owners and professionals.
“We’re relatively on the younger side…,” he said. “[So], it’s nice to have a new generation of business owners in the community.”
